jay west from argentina has been releasing quality deep house (the real sort that is) for the past decade, last years smile ep on bebr got some serious playlist and chart action from everybody who knows their shit, and were please to welcome him to the moodmusic family. the ep starts with blame the music, the sort of feel-good house music we used to get loads of in the early to mid 90s from the big apple. swinging beats, almost disco bass and a sunshine filled vocal are the ingredients for a tune, and jay has delivered one. this will probably not be belted by the kids house community, but real heads knows what to do with this weapon. down continues the journey with victor simonelli style keys and a bouncy bassline, making place for the low-slung in & out tune which have some serious west coast mushroom influences. we love it! to end the ep the catchy little mean machine finally brings the smile to your face.
the byrds were one of the earliest groups who could combine the best of two worlds. they caught on to the energy of the british invasion and combined it with the lyricism & musical elements of the contemporary folk movement.
along the way they pioneered psychedelic and country rock, always keeping things recognizable with their vocal harmonies accompanied by their jangly guitars.
on their third album >fifth dimension< from 1966 they started showing a more lsd-tinged side of themselves with the psychedelic rock of songs such as >eight miles high< and >i see you< and a preference for the indian raga.
one of their most pioneering albums re-issued on 180 grams audiophile vinyl!

nice price deal !!! real name dan griober, dan habarnam has been active since the 90s, doing production for romanian pop artists while also working on his own projects. his solo catalog is pretty slim, with just a few appearances on drum & bass labels like santorin and subtle audio, but from the known is clearly the work of an experienced artist: though loosely anchored in techno, ambient and bass music, its stylistically open-ended, and produced with an audiophiles attention to detail. according to the label, groibers meticulousness extended to the mastering process as well (the cd, for instance, was recorded direct from the vinyl to achieve that special analog feel)
manuel sahagun is considered one of the exciting new talents in the house music scene. he started in 1998 experimenting with his computer and exploring djing as a hobby, playing around with sounds that went from house to techno. influenced by artists like dj dan, derrick carter and dj sneak, he acquired a taste for funky and deep house. starting professionally in 2001, manuel positioned himself quickly as a house music reference among argentinean djs.
THE REMIXES, MANO LE TOUGH, WASTED GAZE / AREA REMIX
12 Inch 24.04.12
aleph04 comes with three special reinterpretations of the labels first three eps. mano le tough is first in line. his remix of > flowers on fire< from aleph01 takes the originals colorful and spaced out vibes and puts them into a little more dancefloor friendly context, with a big 808 booming away and the swirls of the original synthline driving the track forward. mano has been a big supporter of the label right from the start and his releases on permanent vacation, buzzin fly or internasjonal have been turning heads quite a lot, so its an honour to have him on board. the second remix is by wasted gaze. this newcomer from vilnius / lithuania delivers an amazing version of >port hope< , taken from aleph02. a powerful, 2step / garage inspired beat sets the pace, while glowing pads, a super deep bass and enigmatic vocals take care of the rest. watch this guy, his untitled states ep on partyzanai is one of the most intersting and exciting records in a long time. the last track is a remix by aera aka m50 from chicago, who, quite fittingly, took care of this spaced out take on whats my name again? from aleph03. this one is for the heads, a special gem that will work magic in the early morning hours
umek teams up with uto karem for the burning hot >crossing the lines<, backed up with a huge remix by ramon tapia. flip over for more first class musical therapy by marco bailey and ant brooks.

nsyde is delighted to welcome another outstanding artists within our little growing family, imugem orihasam. with this ep nsyde indulges his love for pure detroit techno.imugem orihasam succeeds like no other to balance apparent opposites by using cool and clear transparency in contrast to the mesmerizing and warm pulsating soundscapes to create depth of the highest quality. if jeff mills and john beltran would ever have collaborated then it would probably sound like a1 “gleam from distant gate” is one of those tracks which seem quite unremarkable first, but with the time it creates a massiv hypnotic attraction, a wormhole-like effect you cannot escape from. that space seems endless, just right big enough to loose yourself in it. b1 misty evening seems to be just the right soundtrack to build an underwater metropolisis. it starts building a 2 minute elevated tension before its firering on all cylinders. b2 kotoni is clearest balance and harmony. it sooths your soul like the presense of a japanese garden. spirits are floating free – time and space is marvelous! welcome imugem orihasam!

this band from houston, texas scored several hits with >i cant stop dancing<, >tighten it up< and >strategy<.
archie bell & the drells released seven albums in ten years and the tension that existed on their previous two records, which slipped back and forth across the disco/funk divide, is gone here. >strategy<, including honky tonk pianos, swelling strings sections, thumping basslines and soul singing background vocalists making this one of their best albums. elements of barry white and harold melvin making this album a full disco album. it made it to #37 in the r&b charts, and music on vinyl has the honour to re-release it for the first time on vinyl since its original release.
180 grams audiophile vinyl preassing.

an incredible u.s.a.-belgium collaboration between the dirtiest mc juan huevos and phranteek. all started when phranteek was sound engineering a juan live act. he just says >man? i guess you ll like to records some miami bass tracks?<. juan was like >of course!<. at the end of is tour, kick the lyrics on some phranteeks 808 beat. and the magic happened! phranteek says that mr. huevos is a studio beast… and we can feel it.
on b-side, daveluxes dubstep remix is incredibbly fat. we never thought releasing dubstep music, but this is not dubstep… this is deep schizophrene robot sounds highly doped on bootybass music!
winner of octaves de la musique award in 2011, dj elephant power remix sounds like a travel in a futuristic india. while listening to it, you can imagine some elephants in disguise dancing on ghettomusic!
a gritty 90s style album for those who grew up on illmatic, midnight marauders, only built for cuban links, moment of truth, and ready to die. behind the scale shows the other side of what some are glamorizing about street life and drug trade. this is unfiltered, real shit on tape. some of the stories are inensly personal and sean second-guessed including them, but if it aint raw it aint real. behind the scale is about change, transition and growing up.
after only a handfull of remixes and original productions, but a long period as a dj philipp adam as one part of two-b-music delivers his long awaited debut ep. he therefore provides four tracks full of soul, pendeling between warm harmonies, stargazern, melodies and magic funk always with one eye on these days back in detroit. we are very happy with this release and its gonna be available within a limited edition of 250 copies only.
next amazing thoughtless moover by stare5 aka bryan zentz with a huge remix of noah pred. known for his distinctive productions over the years as barada, cyan and under his own name on seminal techno labels such as primate, tronic, jericho, plus 8 and cmyk, bryan zentz reprises his stare5 role for thoughtless with three tracks of dub-fueled deepness. pushing ever outward on tides of subsonic bass, >the sprawl< emerges from cover of night, a vast expanse of sleepless chords illuminating the darkness as ripples of reverberant effects reach toward the stars. label boss noah pred adds another layer to the low end to imbue his remix with a swinging pulse, then intensifies the hypnosis with a sinuous synth that snakes its way through a winding labyrinth built from the materials of the original. >frozen fog< opens with cold yet insistent stabs that keep pace atop a bouncing dub bass line, responsive chords building pressure amidst gradually rising vapors. with equal nods to detroit and berlin, bryan zentz successfully presents his own unique vision of a classic form with >the sprawl< - solidifying his reputation as a master of the style in the process.
as dmob said in the early 1988 we call acid - the musical phenomenon that makes you want to dance, that puts you in a trance, that move you to the beat. in 2012 a turin mysterious artist know as a.m.b. ( acid music band ) decided to follow the way to acid music, inspired by the acid guru as virgo or tyree cooper and the first techno workers as underground resistance or juan atkins he produced two tracks only with analog instruments and acid attitude. acid music band sounds like an orchestra, the man is the music director and the machines are the players. we are young so we asked help from an old expert… directly from the chi-city, ricardo miranda contributed to create an overall ep with his fantastic boogie remix. old and young records.. we love acid too.
with his recent,chart-topping releases on 100% pure, tronic and rejected, its safe to say bart is in topshape: on his double-a side for bns, he pushes his signature percussive techno-house sound to a new height!
